For Berthon Spain, as with the rest of the world we are waiting and hoping that our lives will soon return to their former glory and that COVID 19 will be banished to the history books. We will all go yachting again and it will be better than ever but in the interim, here is what the team at Berthon are doing in Mallorca to help our clients’ sailing and motor yacht weather the storm so that they are totally plug and play when they join us once again on the island, soon, we hope.
Our guardiennage/yacht care crew are busier than ever this time of year ensuring that our yachts are kept safe. The recent storms that hit the island were record breaking and our captains and crew were fastidiously checking lines and fenders to make sure our yachts were as well prepared as they could be for the strong gusts.
We encourage motor yachts under 50 feet to be stored ashore at this time and now have more motor yachts than ever coming into our large boat storage facility in Son Oms. The costs are a fraction of the marina fees and of course the yachts are kept warm, safe, and dry. By bringing them into dry storage, you can effectively stop the clock as they are no longer exposed to the elements.
All the yachts in Berthon’s storage facility are cleaned on arrival, plugged into shore-power, and checked weekly by our guardiennage team. Of course, all these yachts can be worked on by our technicians – painting, teak repairs, engine servicing, antifoul and more. Our top priority is to ensure that yachts are returned to the water in sparkling condition. Many of our clients have realised that now is the perfect time to carry out refits and projects, so that they can look forward to a shining, reliable floating magic carpet once they return to yachting.
Whether you own a motor yacht or a sailing yacht, you can rest assured that Berthon Spain will give her the best possible care in every way. All our yachts, be they in dry storage or moored in one of Mallorca’s marinas, are constantly checked in detail, cleaned to superyacht standard and given the same level of attention as if they were our own. You might not be able to see or use your yacht just yet, but if Berthon Spain are caring for her you can be sure she is in safe hands and that she will be ready and waiting for you to enjoy her in the lovely waters around the Balearics and beyond!
